Hilary Platt, Speech and Language Therapist,
BSc(Hons), Cert. MRCSLT.

Hilary is an experienced therapist who qualified in 1999.  She is passionate about developing every child's communication skills to the best level that they can be and loves working closely with children and their families to make this happen. Hilary worked in the NHS for 14 years in Nottingham and then West Sussex, working at specialist level with young children with speech and language delays and disorders in clinic settings, special schools and within a nursery. Hilary and Chris set up Springboard Speech and Language in 2007 and she currently works part-time and looks after their two young children. She has completed a large range of additonal training since qualifying and her current area of specialism is children with speech sound difficulties/disorders, and developing early language skills. She has completed several Talk Tools courses and is able to offer this as part of a child's therapy where appropriate.

 

 

Chris Platt, Speech and Language Therapist,
BSc(Hons), MMedSci, Cert. MRCSLT, MASLTIP.

Chris works full time for Springboard Speech and Language Ltd working with individual children and also providing enhanced ('top-up') Speech and Language Therapy to a range of schools in the Portsmouth area.  He also manages to fit in some part-time lecturing at The University of Portsmouth on their Speech, Language and Communication Science course.  Chris qualified with a Master's Degree from the University of Sheffield where he was awarded the MMedSci prize for best overall degree performance.  Following his degree Chris held a range of specialist posts within the NHS working with children in clinics, mainstream schools, nurseries and special schools for children with physical and learning difficulties. 

Chris has provided a range of training and workshops for parents and teachers. He is trained and experienced in a number of interventions including Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative therapy, various approaches for working with children with speech sound difficulties / .disorders, and the Derbyshire Language Scheme.

Fiona White, Administrator

Fiona works for Springboard on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and we couldn't do without her!

Sally-Anne Smith, Speech and Language Therapist, Cert. MRCSLT.

Sally has worked as a specialist in language disorders for many years and has a wealth of knowledge and 'hands on' therapy experience.  She offers assessments and therapy for children in the Liss, Petersfield, Clanfield and Waterlooville area.

Sally worked for 25 years in the NHS, initially in Portsmouth and then in West Sussex . Throughout her career Sally has worked with children with a wide range of communication difficulties and since 1995 she has held specialist posts providing individual and group therapy to children and young people with speech and language disorders in community settings, language units/special support centres and in mainstream schools. Having worked closely with teaching and support staff in schools for many years, Sally has a good understanding of the curriculum and the skills and support that children with speech and language disorders require to access it and progress with their learning. She is experienced in providing training for school professionals and parents and working collaboratively with them to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.

Ann Dixon, Speech and Language Therapist, Cert. MRCSLT.

Ann works with children experiencing speech sound difficulties and within mainsteam schools in the Portsmouth area. Since qualifying in 1995 Ann has worked with children in clinics, mainstream schools, nurseries and special schools for children with physical and learning difficulties. She has worked with children with a wide range of communication difficulties, including speech sound difficulties, language delay and disorder and communication difficulties associated with learning difficulties.

Sally Eveleigh, Speech and Language Therapist, Cert. MRCSLT.

Sally worked as a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist for the NHS. She has over 15 years experience of working in both primary and secondary schools as well as pre-school settings and health centres. This has mainly been with children with speech, language and communication disorders in mainstream settings, but also within specialist provisions such as language units. This has involved setting up, delivering and supporting therapy programmes for both individual children and groups as well as training parents, staff and other professionals. She is highly experienced with a range of therapeutic interventions and strategies including shape coding, narrative therapy, the Derbyshire Language Scheme and approaches for developing speech sound skills / speech clarity. Sally also co-authored a published Therapy Resource Pack for developing social communication skills [Social Communication Difficulties Resouce Pack - Speechmark 2011].

Sally is pasionate about working with schools to support their pupils with Speech, Language and Communication needs and is currently working closely with a number of schools in Portsmouth.
